Crusty Toast with Fruit

Crusty Toast with Fruit
Step 1

Toast Fate* bread to desired colour. Spread evenly with margarine.

Step 2

Serve hot with chosen fruit.


Serving suggestions:

Try toasting 2 slices of Fate bread* and, instead of margarine; spreading 1 ½ heaped Tbs (36g) reduced fat ricotta evenly over each slice. Place 5 raspberries (fresh or frozen; thawed) on each slice on top of ricotta. Dust lightly with cocoa powder.

Makes 1 serve providing 3g protein.


Top tip:

Toast with a Mixed Vegetable Grill is a great idea for a weekend breakfast. In a small non-stick frying pan, sauté in a little oil spray 1 halved tomato, 3-4 sliced mushrooms and ¼ - ½ cup (no more than 17g) baby spinach leaves until browned.  Toast two slices Fate bread* to desired colour.  Brush each slice with a little olive oil.   Serve toast topped with vegetables and a dash of balsamic vinegar (optional).
